In 1986, the Jersey Classic relocated to the Horse Park of New Jersey.  It was a new facility with not a tree in sight. We have since watched it grow into one of the finest show grounds in the East.  Located at 626 Route 524 in Upper Freehold Township, Monmouth County, just minutes off Route 195.

Annual Jersey Classic Horse Show News

We are pleased to have been able to bring you a quality, local horse show to kick off your 2020 season!

The Jersey Classic Horse Show was held on July 10-12, 2020

at The Horse Park of New Jersey

The name of the game this year was flexibility. As we saw more and more shows being cancelled due to COVID, we were determined to move our date, and rework our class schedule to be able to offer additional Morgan classes, giving not only Saddlebred barns a place to show, but Morgan barns too. With regulations in New Jersey changing almost daily, we regrouped and adapted our protocols and procedures to ensure that we were in compliance with not only the Governor of NJ, but also the Horse Park of NJ, and the Joint Leadership Council, and made sure that we didn’t have anyone coming in to show from the ever growing list of hot spot states.

As if holding a horse show in a world with COVID wasn’t enough, Jersey Classic also dealt with Tropical Storm Flo who decided to hit NJ just as our show was about to begin. Luckily, the Horse Park of NJ had a great indoor ring available to us and we quickly moved everything indoors for Friday’s classes. We want to thank all the barns and exhibitors who came out to show at the Jersey Classic. There may have been a lot of ever-changing hoops to jump through, but in the end, we sold out of stalls, everyone remained flexible while practicing social distancing and finally got to get their horses in the show ring!

Thank you to everyone who sponsored, volunteered, and came out to show your horse! Jersey Classic 2020 will not soon be forgotten!                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  ~Kathy Stevens, Show Manager
